Sunday, March 8th doing something fun in Utrecht? Don’t worry, there’s plenty to do. From theatre performances throughout the city to a real truffle day (yes please?!) Or how about the fact that Sunday 8 March is International Women’s Day! Below we feature 3 fun to do’s. If you want more inspiration, take a look at the links at the bottom of the text.
International Women’s Day
Did you know that International Women’s Day is celebrated on Sunday 8 March 2020? Within the framework of ‘visibility, self-esteem, and feminine energy’, Stadsschouwburg Utrecht organizes an afternoon with inspiring female speakers, an interactive panel discussion and song and dance performances. The afternoon will be concluded with a sociable drink including a DJ who will provide the music.
Moreover, none other than our own Dainahara will be present during the talk show about (online) visibility/vulnerability. Ideal for (small) companies that are working hard on their visibility in the online world.
Café Theater Festival
Suppose you order a drink with friends in your favorite café in town. Unsuspectingly, all the lights go out, it gets quiet. Suddenly a man jumps on the bar and speaks to the confused crowd. Your bar stool suddenly becomes a stage and a noisy regular turns out to be an actor.
The Café Theatre Festival is the festival that mixes performing arts and cafes throughout the city into a place where nothing is what it seems. An incredibly fun and imaginary festival where you can put together your own theatrical pub crawl from performances lasting up to half an hour. Worth a visit and plenty of choice from dance, musical theatre, text theatre, circus, storytelling and everything in between.
Truffle day at Restaurant Fico
“Sunday is Truffle Day!” says restaurant Fico. Yes really, every Sunday in the month of March truffle is the star on the menu. When you dine at Fico’s next Sunday, the chefs will put together a delicious 4-course lunch or dinner menu for you based on the truffle.
Not only does the menu sound exciting and promising, but the building is also located on the waterfront and has a unique architecture and a luxurious appearance. When the weather is clear you can look out over the Veilinghaven from here. Now let’s hope for that bright weather.
