Utrecht is not called the capital of stand-up comedy for nothing. More than 60 comedians from far and wide come to Utrecht to show their talent. There is a lot to do in Utrecht during the Utrecht Comedy Week from Feb 28 till March 7. The International Comedy Festival closes the comedy week in TivoliVredenburg. Utrecht Comedy Week from 28 February until 7 March
The whole week Utrecht will be all about comedy, with more than 40 shows spread throughout the city. Performances will be given on special locations such as the old Wolvenplein prison, the Schiller Theatre and newer catering initiatives such as the Stadstuin and the Filmcafé.
More than 60 comedians from home and abroad will give both Dutch and English-language performances. The program is suitable for young and old and varies from roast battles between comedians to feel-good cabaret. From political humor to physical humor in which the artist crawls over the audience. There is a lot to choose from.
International Comedy Festival – Sat 6th and Sun 7th March at TivoliVredenburg
What else is there to do in Utrecht besides Comedy Week? The highlight of the week is the Utrecht International Comedy Festival on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 March in TivoliVredenburg. With more than 3,000 annual visitors, this is the largest stand-up comedy festival in the Benelux.
Besides entertaining shows, during the festival weekend, there will also be delicious snacks to taste at one of the many food trucks on the square in TivoliVredenburg. A wonderful evening for both the seasoned comedy lover and visitors who just want to enjoy an evening of laughter and delicious snacks with friends in their own city.
Just like previous years, Explore Utrecht will be present during this 9th edition of the festival. Do you want to be there too? Then at least for a few days, you don’t have to worry about what to do in Utrecht. Then make sure you get a day ticket or passe-partout on time because the tickets are sent out quickly every year.
