Café Theater Festival
28 café’s in Utrecht | 5-7 March
You drink a beer in a pub and suddenly a performance starts out of nowhere. Getting in touch with the theatre could not be more accessible than during the Café Theatre Festival in Utrecht. In 28 pubs, 4 days long you will be part of performances in which people sing, report, cry and mimed. And all half-hour-long performances are new, specially designed for this festival and will premiere about the same time. Do you want to know what’s going on where? Voorpremière WOMAN
Louis Hartlooper Complex | 8 March
The 8th of March is International Women’s Day and for this reason film house Louis Hartlooper Complex organizes a pre-premiere of the documentary WOMAN. An ode to women in all diversity. The makers interviewed two thousand women from fifty different countries and made an intimate portrait of them. It is about the oppression of women and their strength. Centraal Laat
Centraal Museum Utrecht | 5 March
During Centraal Laat, local makers take over the Centraalmuseum on the first Thursday evening of the month. This time in the theme of the new exhibition Tears of Eros: Moesman, surrealism and the sexes about sexuality. Café Theatre Festival plays a performance and the girls of the feminist podcast DAMN HONEY talk to the audience. In addition, pop music artist Céline Gillain, Studio Nonsens, and BIG HARE will play, you can learn to draw surrealism and watch the new exhibition.

Opening New Bibliotheek Utrecht
Bibliotheek Neude | 13 March
The new library on the Neude almost opens its doors to the general public! Princess Laurentien officially opens the library on Friday afternoon 13 March at 13.30 pm (which is not open to the public). From 17.00 on, the old post office will be used by books, art and the people of Utrecht. From then on it will be a fortnight party with writers such as Ronald Giphart, Bart Chabot, Alma Mathijsen, Niña Weijers, Herman Brusselmans, and columnists, including Roos Schlikker and Özcan Akyol. Liszt Concours 
TivoliVredenburg |  16 t/m 28 March
For almost two weeks TivoliVredenburg will be dedicated to the classical piano music of composer Liszt. And because this year is the 250th anniversary of the birth of composer Ludwig von Beethoven, the twelfth edition of this competition is about Beethoven through the eyes of Liszt. The triennial competition is an important springboard for international, young piano talents.

For dyed-in-the-wool classical music lovers, there is plenty to listen to at different times (for example during lunch!) Would you first like to see if the music is right for you? Together with presenter Floris Kortie, filmmaker Nander Cirkel traveled through Europe to tell stories between Liszt and Beethoven. In 20 minutes you’ll find out what their link is.
